Sailing the Winds of Destiny
A mercenary originally from the south that worked as a caravan guard for years, until he reached Nechara. His contract was co-opted by the city and given a pittance in order to fight of beastmen hordes. The leadership was killed early on and many losses were suffered unnecessarily as incompetent nobles insisted on leading and failed.
Then a stranger walked into town, coming from the Southeast amazingly enough. Exiting the monster-filled jungle as he were on a stroll with his family. This was Swift Cloak and his group. Swift cloak taught several volunteers how to strike from hiding, attacking the beastmen where they were at home, with their guard down.
Although those not good enough died early on, Raw Pearl was amazing at it. Swift Cloak saved all of them, really, with his tactics. His assaults made the beastmen hordes waver and gave the defenders time to mount a counter assault.
Since then Raw Pearl stayed with the Ghost Tigers. With them he has served for many years, in the scavenger lands, Linowan, the West and many other places. He doesn’t have partner right now, but he is not hurried. He’s in his mid 30’s.
As is custom in the Ghost Tigers, he rides Anoya, a cobalt blue tiger with darker blue hues of coloring. She has been with him for only two years, but he dotes on her like she was his little sister. He found her on a market in Nexus, meant for a freakshow paid almost all of his savings for her. His tiger and companion for many years had been killed a few months before, and was actually looking for a new one.
His armor is his most prized possession. A dark blue, Simhata (Lionhorse) leather armor, fashioned in the way of one of the Chiaroscuro horsetribes. Expertly crafted, the armor feels feathersoft, as if touching a newborn cub. Yet it turns away blows like much heavier armor. He wields a single handed axe and a tiger claw braced to his left hand. He also carries javelins, preferring to soften a target up from a distance before moving in. He is very adept at the Tiger imitating martial arts style and has had plenty of chance to perform it in the Denzik fleet. He always wears a thin glove on his right hand to cover up an ungly scar.
